Heath started creating these little boxes, called bandsaw boxes, and is having fun using up extra wood for something so cute. Believe it or not, this started out as two solid pieces of Poplar wood glued together. Then he makes a series of cuts to extract the center, which creates the opening and lid to perfectly fit on top.
I added the Celtic knot designs with my trusty Colwood woodburning pen. everything is done by hand - no lasers here, and I’m proud of that! T
he drawer interior is lined with a gorgeous green flocking (felt), only adding to the Celtic design. We then finished this with a gel polyurethane to keep the outside clean.
This tiny little stash box would be good for an adult’s or child’s desk to hold hair clips, hair ties, rings, or earrings. Or maybe an office desk for paper clips, rubber bands, or anything else small which needs a home.
